As the seasons change each year, the Colorado Desert in California hosts the Coachella festival each April — a gathering place for celebrities, musicians and fashion brands that turns live performances into a major commercial event.
While the music is, of course, at the center, much of the real action takes place in the dressing rooms and often offstage.

Kendall Jenner showcases 'festival wear' at Coachella
With a lineup that included Justin Bieber, Nine Inch Nails, Noga Erez, FKA twigs, Sabrina Carpenter, Karol G and others, the festival took place over the past weekend — and will return next weekend with the same lineup — before tens of thousands of attendees. Among them were celebrities such as Kylie Jenner, Lila Moss and Kendall Jenner, who arrived in “festival wear,” a catchall term for revealing outfits paired with boots.

Fashion at Coachella has reflected the trends of the moment, which at times have also overtaken the music itself — from the early years of Y2K aesthetics to the era of “Sheinchella,” a critical slang term that has emerged on social media in recent years to describe the festival’s embrace of fast-fashion trends.
FKA twigs, collaborating with Turkmen New York-based designer Guvanch, appeared in a feathered, ceremonial look that blended tribal references with post-apocalyptic aesthetics. Addison Rae wore a small pink vinyl top by Agent Provocateur, while rapper Central Cee played with hip-hop and “bling” codes in a branded Gap sweatshirt and Louis Vuitton accessories.
