After making a comeback last summer as an accessory wrapped around the waist, the scarf is now taking over women’s wardrobes. Colorful printed silk fabrics have been turned into tops and dresses this season by fashion houses and designers, including Celine, Hermes, Lanvin, Michael Kors, Dries Van Noten and others. On the head, around the torso or at the waist, the scarf is one of the standout trends of summer 2026.
Designers Peter Copping at Lanvin and Michael Rider at Celine are two of the main figures behind the scarf’s growing presence in the wardrobe. Copping presented dresses and tops made from logo prints in red and black, as well as black and white. The styling created a “messy” layered look, with a matching scarf wrapped around the head, a versatile style that can be reworked with every wear.
At Celine, Rider gave scarves a playful character. The designer, who recently joined the storied fashion house, wrapped colorful scarves around the models’ bodies, created skirt-like pieces made from scarves and, in other cases, sent models down the runway holding scarves in their hands.
On the brand’s website, shoppers can choose from a range of scarves priced between 230 and 490 euros, about $250 to $530, while ankle-length pants made of silk scarves cost 2,400 euros, about $2,600.
In an era when a smart, flexible wardrobe has become almost essential, especially in unpredictable weather like Israel’s, the scarf offers an elegant solution: an accessory that can be played with and used in several ways. It can become a halter top tied behind the neck, a beach skirt wrapped around the waist, a head covering or a decorative accent added to a handbag.

Beyond its practicality, the scarf brings a nostalgic touch of 1950s elegance and 1970s bohemian style, recalling stars and first ladies such as Jackie Kennedy and Sophia Loren, who wore silk scarves over their hair. It all depends on the way it is tied and the style you want to project, from a pop of color in an elegant outfit to an accessory that reinforces a boho-chic look.

Because it is one of the season’s more accessible trends, it is easy to experiment with a scarf at home in front of the mirror through trial and error. A large silk scarf, for example, can be folded into a narrow strip and worn as a belt, tied to a bag or wrapped around the head for a cleaner look.
The bottom line: There is no single correct way to wear it. Each knot creates a different look, and each fabric responds differently to movement, allowing every woman to create her own fashionable version.
