Billie Eilish’s brother got married Saturday, but it is not clear everyone was having a good time — at least judging by paparazzi photos that appear to show a tense conversation, and perhaps even a marital spat, between Justin and Hailey Bieber.
The wedding of Finneas O’Connell and Claudia Sulewski was held in Santa Barbara with many guests in attendance, some of them famous given that the groom’s sister — who also officiated the ceremony — is one of the world’s best-known singers. Guests included Kristen Bell and her husband Dax Shepard, Jason Sudeikis, and Justin and Hailey Bieber, who were photographed having a conversation that appeared to lack smiles, warmth or affection. By the end, both looked frustrated and very serious.
One of the Daily Mail’s favorite pastimes is bringing in body-language experts to interpret this kind of footage, and this time was no exception, with expert Judi James called in for the task.
“The way Hailey looks at her husband as he walks away after their heated conversation creates an impression of tension or drama. Justin is slightly slouched and his arms are hanging a little forward, which makes him look less energetic and positive,” she said.

At the same time, she sought to calm things down and said she did not think they had actually argued: “Hailey raised her hands and pointed — but not in his direction, so there is no sign of conflict.”
Bieber himself shared several photos from the wedding, but he did not look especially warm in those either. Or maybe that is simply his usual look.
The couple will celebrate their eighth wedding anniversary in less than two weeks, on September 13. Their son, Jack, celebrated his second birthday two weeks ago.
