Amy Schumer is starting fresh. This week, the 44-year-old actress and comedian deleted all her old photos from her Instagram account, leaving just one new post: a photo of herself in a red Valentino mini dress and Chanel heels.
“Went out tonight, who’s proud of me?” she wrote in her typically playful tone. “Feeling good and happy. Deleted all my old photos, for no reason!”
It is safe to assume the line was a joke, though it comes across as a not-so-subtle break from her pre-weight-loss image and perhaps an acknowledgment that even comedians want to look good, but prefer to hide it behind humor.
Earlier that day, Schumer shared a screenshot in her Instagram Story of her very first post ever, adding: “This was my first post. I’m going to delete them all because why not?”
The dramatic online reset follows a period in which Schumer openly documented her weight-loss journey. In late October, she posted a carousel captioned, “Feeling strong and like myself again.”
In recent years, Schumer has spoken candidly about her failed experience with Ozempic, calling it “a terrible experience,” and revealed that she underwent liposuction in 2022. “I have a gene called GDF15 that causes extreme nausea,” she told Howard Stern in January. “So when I tried Ozempic three years ago, I was basically bedridden and throwing up constantly. It’s not for me. But if it works for you, great.”
Since then, Schumer has found a medication combination that helps her manage symptoms of endometriosis and perimenopause. A few months ago, she said she began using another drug in the same family, Mounjaro, calling it “an amazing experience.”
In 2024, after revealing that she was diagnosed with Cushing’s syndrome, Schumer said she wants to become a voice for women’s health. “The criticism and shame around our changing bodies is something I’ve lived with for years,” she said in a video shared online. “I want women to love themselves and fight for their health, even when the system doesn’t believe them.”
