Israel’s weather today, Thursday, will be partly to mostly cloudy, with a slight increase in temperatures. Light, local rain is expected in northern and central regions. Overnight, conditions will remain partly to mostly cloudy.
On Friday, temperatures will rise further and remain higher than the seasonal average. Winds are expected to strengthen, particularly in southern areas, where haze may also develop.
Saturday will bring additional warming, mainly in mountainous and inland areas, with temperatures remaining above normal for the season. On Sunday, warmer-than-average conditions are expected to continue.
Rain returned yesterday, falling from the northern border down to the Sderot area. According to the Israel Meteorological Service, the highest rainfall was recorded in Hadera, where 70.6 millimeters fell by 9 p.m., including 37.5 millimeters in just one hour.
Despite recent rainfall, totals in the Upper Galilee, the Golan Heights, and around the Sea of Galilee have reached only about 50% of the multi-year average. Western Galilee and Haifa have received 70% to 80%, Tel Aviv about 60%, and Jerusalem nearly 80%. In Beersheba, rainfall has already exceeded the annual average.
Meanwhile, the Sea of Galilee remains 34.5 centimeters below the lower red line and is still about 4.45 meters short of full capacity. Since the start of the year, the water level has risen only 14 centimeters and remains nearly two meters lower than at the same time last year.
