Drizzle to light local rain is expected Saturday morning in northern Israel and along the coastal plain, while temperatures will remain below seasonal averages.
The forecast follows a day of rain across many parts of northern and central Israel, with the largest amounts in what was dubbed a “mini first rain of the season” recorded in the Galilee.
Rain in Jerusalem; less than 1 mm in total
Bar’am in the Upper Galilee received 17 mm of rain on Friday, while 11 mm fell in Elon in the Western Galilee and Ayelet HaShahar in the Hula Valley. El-Rom in the northern Golan Heights recorded 10 mm over 24 hours. Rainfall totals at all other measuring stations were in the single digits. Less than 1 mm fell in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
No significant change in temperatures is expected Saturday, but a slight warm-up is forecast for Sunday, the eve of Yom Kippur, bringing temperatures in most areas back to seasonal norms.
On Monday, Yom Kippur itself, skies will be partly cloudy in the morning before clearing later in the day. Temperatures will rise slightly again, particularly in the mountains and inland areas. On Tuesday, after the fast ends, no significant change in temperatures is expected.
