Founed in 2004 by Pet & Family Lifestyle Expert and Animal Advocate Colleen Paige, it's a day that aims to bring attention to the plight of dogs around the world and encourage adoption of rescue dogs.
What's a better way to celebrate the day than by adopting a puppy or a dog looking for a warm home. Ynet and the country’s animal welfare associations have compiled an extensive list of furry friends who have been waiting to become the latest member of your family.

Tiger: Tiger has also been waiting for eight years for a home. He is an amazing dog, filled with love. He is trained, playful, and full of confidence, which means he needs owners who will make it clear to him who is the pack leader at home.
Uza: An 8-year-old dog who has spent her entire life in the association. She is apprehensive due to her innocence, which means she needs patient owners who will take the time to get to know her true, lovable self.
Freddie: An 8-year-old dog filled with absolute love. Freddie has a hard time finding a home due to him becoming competitive whenever someone tries to compete with him for the attention of his owner. Freddie is waiting for new parents with adoption experience and without small children.

Berry: This 11-years-old dog is the sweetest and most delicate thing you will ever meet. Berry is educated, disciplined and is great with children.
Bully: Bully loves people unconditionally and gets along with everyone including children. He hugs and cuddles and needs a quiet environment without any other male dogs, with whom he does not initially get along.
