The warming trend of recent days will continue Friday, with temperatures rising to above seasonal norms and, in some areas, near-heatwave conditions. Strong easterly winds are expected in northern Israel and the central highlands, and hazy skies are possible. From midday, light, localized rain may fall mainly in eastern parts of the country.
A cooling trend begins Saturday. Temperatures will drop, and skies will be partly to mostly cloudy. Local showers are expected in the morning across much of Israel, strengthening from the afternoon and accompanied by thunderstorms. Forecasters warn of a high risk of flash flooding in desert streambeds in the Negev desert and eastern valleys.
On Sunday, temperatures will fall sharply again. Light, localized rain may continue during the morning, with isolated thunderstorms mainly in the north. Rain will gradually taper off during the day.
The cooling trend will continue Monday, with another slight drop in temperatures. Brisk southwesterly winds are expected, especially along the Mediterranean coast. From the afternoon, scattered showers are possible, with isolated thunderstorms mainly along the northern coastal plain.
