Weather forecast: midwinter heat spike to 30°C ahead of cooler, rainy conditions

February may be in full swing, but a noticeable warm-up is expected today, with temperatures in Beersheba and Eilat forecast to reach around 30 degrees Celsius; significant cooldown is expected tomorrow, and light rain is possible in the north and south

A sharp rise in temperatures is expected across on Monday, with conditions turning hotter than usual to unseasonably hot for this time of year. Skies will be clear to partly cloudy, though haze may develop, mainly in eastern parts of the country. Strong easterly winds are forecast in the northern mountains during the morning hours. In Beersheba and Eilat, temperatures are expected to climb to around 30 degrees Celsius.
Overnight, skies will become partly cloudy to cloudy with high- and mid-level cloud cover. Winds will strengthen and haze remains possible. Toward early morning, reduced visibility may develop in the southern Coastal Plain and northern Negev.

On Tuesday, temperatures are set to drop significantly. Northern and central Israel could see light drizzle to isolated showers. Skies will be partly cloudy to cloudy, with haze possible from the afternoon.
Localized rain is forecast on Wednesday, mainly in northern Israel. Winds will intensify, and hazy conditions are expected in the south and center. Temperatures are not expected to change.
A slight drop in temperatures is forecast for Thursday, with clear to partly cloudy skies.
