Temperatures rise after cold spell as Israel heads into hotter-than-usual weather

Temperatures will continue climbing Sunday after last week’s cold spell, with moderate heat stress expected in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea coast and Arava; the heat wave is forecast to peak Tuesday before easing Wednesday

The weather Sunday will be clear to partly cloudy, with a slight rise in temperatures. It will become warmer than usual for the season in the mountains and inland areas.
Moderate heat stress is expected in the Sea of Galilee basin, along the Dead Sea coast and in the Jordan Valley and Arava. The maximum UV index forecast for today is high to very high.

Overnight, skies will generally be clear, with a chance of fog in the southern coastal plain and the northern Negev.
On Monday, the weather will be clear to partly cloudy. No significant change in temperatures is expected, and they will remain higher than usual for the season in the mountains and inland areas.
On Tuesday, skies will be partly cloudy, with high-altitude cloud cover. Temperatures will rise sharply, bringing hot, dry conditions. Heat stress will intensify across most parts of the country.
On Wednesday, the weather will be partly cloudy to clear. Heat stress will ease, temperatures will drop significantly and return to seasonal norms in most parts of the country.
