The exhibition Voice from the Desert: The Great Isaiah Scroll will reopen to the public on Friday, May 15.
The exhibition features the oldest known manuscript of a complete biblical book and will return after being closed on the morning of February 28, following the outbreak of war. At the time, all displays were transferred to the museum’s protected storage facilities.
The scroll has not been on view since, as part of the museum’s commitment to preserving one of its most sensitive and significant objects, which holds great meaning for the Jewish people and the world at large.
The reopening will once again allow visitors to encounter the original Great Isaiah Scroll and explore the fascinating story of its discovery in the Qumran Caves.
The scroll will be on display for four months only. Due to conservation considerations, attendance is limited and visits require timed-entry tickets. Visitors are asked to reserve tickets in advance on the museum’s website.
