Israel will see unusual summer weather Saturday, with local rain expected in the east, isolated thunderstorms possible and a risk of flash floods in the Judean Desert and Dead Sea area.
The day will be partly cloudy, with a slight rise in temperatures. From around noon, local rainfall is expected mainly in eastern parts of the country, with the possibility of isolated thunderstorms. Partly cloudy conditions are expected to continue overnight.

Despite the rain, heat will remain intense in many areas. The maximum UV index is forecast to range from very high to extreme.
Extreme heat stress is expected around the Sea of Galilee, the Dead Sea coast, the Jordan Valley and the Arava. Heavy heat stress is forecast in the southern Golan Heights and its slopes, the Western and Lower Galilee, northern valleys, Carmel and Menashe Hills, the coastal plain, the Shfela, northern Negev, Judean Desert and eastern Negev.
On Sunday, temperatures are expected to remain similar, with rain again forecast in eastern Israel from the afternoon.
A further drop in temperatures is expected Monday, when readings in the mountains and inland areas are forecast to fall slightly below seasonal averages. Heat stress will ease, and light drizzle may develop along the coast during the morning.
Tuesday is expected to be partly cloudy to mostly clear, with no significant change in temperatures. Light morning drizzle may again occur along the coast.
