Forecast: Israel braces for extreme heat before temperatures dip Monday

The weather Friday will be hotter than usual, with heat-wave conditions in the mountains and inland areas and hot, humid conditions along the coastal plain. Heat stress will be heavy to extreme in most regions. The maximum forecast ultraviolet radiation index will be very high to extreme.
Extreme heat stress is expected in the southern Golan Heights and its slopes, the northern valleys, Lower Galilee, the Sea of Galilee basin, the Dead Sea coast, the Jordan Valley, the Arava, the Judean Desert and the eastern Negev. Heavy heat stress is forecast in the northern Golan Heights, Western Galilee, Carmel region and Menashe Heights, the coastal plain, the Shfela, the central mountains, the northern Negev and the Negev Highlands.
