A slight rise in temperatures is expected Friday, with a continuation of unusually hot — even sweltering — conditions across most of the country. Eastern winds will blow in the morning, particularly over the northern hills.
The heatwave is set to persist Saturday and Sunday, with scorching weather nationwide, despite a small dip in temperature on Sunday. On Monday, temperatures will fall slightly again, especially along the coastal plain, yet it will still feel warmer than usual, and in many places — oppressively hot.
