An estimated 40,000 Israelis took advantage of a brief break in stormy weather over the weekend to visit national parks and nature reserves across the country, according to the Israel Nature and Parks Authority.
Hikers and visitors enjoyed strong stream flows in rivers and creeks, intensified by heavy rains that fell on Friday. Among the most visited sites were the Hermon Stream (Banias) Nature Reserve in the north, Caesarea National Park along the coast, Tel Afek National Park in central Israel and Migdal Tzedek National Park near Rosh HaAyin.
