Temperatures will rise slightly Wednesday, mainly in the mountains and inland, where conditions will be hotter and drier than usual for the season.
A further slight rise in temperatures is expected Thursday, with conditions becoming hotter than usual to scorching in the mountains and inland and hot and humid along the coastal plain. Heavy to extreme heat stress will be felt across most of the country. No significant change is expected Friday, but heat stress will intensify further nationwide Saturday.
