Thursday’s weather will be mostly clear to partly cloudy, with temperatures returning to seasonal averages across most of Israel after dipping slightly, mainly in the mountains and inland areas.
Despite the modest cooling, extreme heat stress is expected in the Sea of Galilee basin, Jordan Valley and Arava desert. Heavy heat stress is forecast for the southern Golan Heights and its slopes, the northern valleys, Lower Galilee, coastal plain, Dead Sea coast and northern Negev.

On Friday, the eve of Rosh Hashanah, skies will clear after morning clouds dissipate, with another drop in temperatures, particularly along the coastal plain, in the Shfela lowlands and the Negev. No significant change in temperatures is expected Saturday.
Sunday morning will be partly cloudy before skies clear later in the day. Temperatures will rise slightly, reaching somewhat above seasonal averages, particularly in the mountains and inland areas. Heat stress is expected to intensify.
