Forecast: rain returns, but warm weather to persist across Israel

Unseasonably warm weather and strong winds are expected Friday, with rain returning to northern areas later in the day and dust storms forecast in the south.
Temperatures will rise significantly Friday, becoming hotter than usual for this time of year. Strong winds will blow across much of the country, and conditions will turn very dusty from the afternoon hours. Dust storms are expected in southern areas.

Intermittent rain is forecast in the north beginning in the afternoon, with a chance of isolated thunderstorms. Overnight, local rain accompanied by isolated thunderstorms is expected in the north, while central areas could see scattered showers. Skies will be partly cloudy, with strong southwesterly winds continuing and dusty conditions lingering in most regions.
On Saturday, local rain is expected, mainly in the north, through the afternoon. Skies will remain partly cloudy. Dusty conditions will persist in central and southern areas until gradually subsiding later in the day. Temperatures will drop significantly but remain slightly above seasonal averages, with brisk winds continuing.
Temperatures are expected to climb again Sunday, bringing warmer-than-usual conditions and generally clear skies. Strong easterly winds are forecast in the northern hills during the morning.
On Monday, temperatures are set to rise further, with heatwave conditions along the coastal plain, in the lowlands, the Negev desert and the valleys. Mountain areas will be warmer than usual, and strong easterly winds are expected in the north. Skies will be clear to partly cloudy.
Forecast temperatures for Friday and overnight include: Jerusalem 9–17°C (48–63°F), Tel Aviv 13–22°C (55–72°F), Haifa 14–20°C (57–68°F), Safed 9–15°C (48–59°F), Katzrin 11–18°C (52–64°F), Tiberias 13–21°C (55–70°F), Nazareth 13–20°C (55–68°F), Afula 12–22°C (54–72°F), Beit Shean 14–24°C (57–75°F), Lod 13–22°C (55–72°F), Ashdod 12–22°C (54–72°F), Ein Gedi 18–31°C (64–88°F), Be'er Sheva 9–21°C (48–70°F), Mitzpe Ramon 11–19°C (52–66°F) and Eilat 16–25°C (61–77°F).
