Lion cubs found in recent weeks in various locations around Israel will remain in the Kiryat Motzkin animal park, where they have been kept since their discovery.
The five cubs, three females and two males, were smuggled across the border from Egypt and Jordan, likely with the use of drones, along with other wild animals, including dozens of Green Monkey primates in the largest smuggling of animals on record in Israel.

"The veterinarian services and experts in Israel and abroad believe that the Motzkin Park would be able to provide a high standard of care and conditions to the cubs," the Nature and Parks official in charge of enforcement said.
"We are aware that in the past, the park was criticized for its care of wild animals, but the management has been changed and conditions have improved. We have been following their progress and are positively impressed with their care and commitment to the cubs."
