UK rock band under fire for swastika-Star of David imagery at London show

Jewish watchdog files police complaint after Primal Scream displays visuals linking Nazi symbols with Jewish iconography during anti-Israel performance; venue launches investigation amid accusations of antisemitism

British rock band Primal Scream is facing backlash after displaying edited images of the Star of David merged with swastikas during a Monday night concert in London.
The controversial visuals were projected on screen during the performance of the band’s 1999 song Swastika Eyes, a track originally written as a critique of U.S. foreign policy. During the performance, footage of Gaza was shown, followed by images of a Star of David containing a swastika.
Other visuals included Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former defense minister Yoav Gallant and U.S. President Donald Trump with swastikas and Stars of David superimposed over their eyes.
The Community Security Trust (CST), a British Jewish watchdog group, reported the band to police for what it described as an antisemitic display. The venue has announced an internal investigation into the incident.

Bobby Gillespie, the band’s frontman, has been an outspoken critic of Israel and its policies.
A spokesperson for the Campaign Against Antisemitism told The Telegraph: “The Nazi swastika represents the ideology that drove people to massacre six million innocent Jewish men, women and children through shooting, gas and every other means available. To visually combine it with the Star of David — the definitive symbol of Judaism — is vile and inexcusable. This isn’t art. This isn’t a political statement. This is hate.”
