Knesset members Benny Elon (National Union) and Elhanan Glazer (Pensioner's Party) flew out to Washington DC for the first ever meeting of the US Congressional Israel Allies Caucus (CIAC) and the Israeli Knesset Christian Allies Caucus (KCAC).
The meeting was co-hosted by Congressmen Dave Weldon of Florida and Eliot Engel of New York; the two are also the founders of the CIAC, a bipartisan group of legislators dedicated to defending Israel's right to exist in peace and promoting Judeo-Christian values.
The two caucuses discussed the current controversy near the Temple Mount, the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, the Iranian threat and additional issues on the Middle East agenda.
The CIAC was established in July 2006 as a response to the formation of its sister caucus, the KCAC, two years earlier in recognition of the significant support from numerous Christian groups and denominations in the United States and around the world.
