Jewish teen attacked in Paris suburb by three youths in antisemitic assault, police launch search

Fourteen-year-old hospitalized after being beaten and threatened with death in Sarcelles; attackers allegedly shouted antisemitic slurs as French authorities arrest two suspects and search for a third

A 14-year-old Jewish girl was attacked and threatened with death by three youths in the Paris suburb of Sarcelles on Friday, local police said. The girl was taken to a hospital following the assault. Two of the suspects are 12 years old.
French media reported that the three youths approached the girl and asked why she was not observing the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. After she revealed that she was Jewish, they allegedly called her a “dirty Jew.”

One of them reportedly threatened her, saying, “I will kill you with the Quran.” The youths then struck her in the face.
The girl was taken to the emergency room, where medical staff said she was in a state of shock.
Police arrested two suspects later that evening and are searching for a third.
Another Paris suburb also saw an antisemitic incident on Sunday, when unidentified individuals attacked a kosher restaurant in Levallois-Perret and sprayed the words “dirty Jew” in red on the building’s windows.
