A well-known pizzeria in Germany has banned Israelis from entering, citing the war in Gaza.
Pizza Zulu in the city of Fürth in the Bavarian state of Germany announced that it will no longer admit Israelis to its shop. The pizzeria was named by leadersnet as the sixth-best in the world.
A sign posted by the establishment read: “We love all human beings regardless of where they come from. We believe children should not be harmed regardless of the circumstances. We are an international group and we belong to civil society, and therefore we will not keep silent like the rest of the world. We decided to protest, and our protest is neither political nor racist. We will no longer accept Israelis in the place. We will welcome them back when they decide to open their eyes, ears and hearts.”

The city of Fürth in Bavaria is home to a famous Jewish museum and has a history stretching back a thousand years. Some 600 years ago a Jewish cemetery, a synagogue and a thriving yeshiva were established there; the town hosted Jews expelled from neighboring cities and prided itself on never having limited the number of Jews living there.
Following criticism from the city's Jewish community, the sign reportedly was removed hours later.
In a separate recent incident in Bavaria, a music shop reportedly demanded that an Israeli classical musician read a statement opposing the war in Gaza as a condition for renting an amplifier.
