Religious panel accuses Rabbi suspected of sex crimes of launching cyberstrike on court website,

Ultra-Orthodox panel that deals with sexual assault on women in the Haredi community says the cyberattack is an act of vengeance by a rabbi linked to criminal elements after the community is warned about his actions

A prominent rabbi was alleged to be behind a cyber strike on the website of the special ultra-Orthodox court dealing with sexual assaults.
The site was attacked by over 300 million simultaneous attempts to reach it, causing it to fail. "This is a powerful rabbi with financial backing and questionable ties to criminal elements, the court said. "He is trying to take his revenge on the court after it issued a warning to the community against his attempts to again take advantage of women in distress."

The panel in the court said they had been subjected to attacks in religious pamphlets and to violence and their signatures had been forged on documents they had not written. They believe this had been the work of criminals connected to the rabbi in an effort to frighten members of the judicial panel and prevent them from taking steps that would harm their criminal endeavors.
"The court is determined to continue its work against the perpetrators of sexual crimes. The Torah defines such acts as murder and any bullying or violence would not help. We will continue undeterred," the court said.
In recent years, the court uncovered cases of assaults against women by rabbis and has helped incriminate them. However, the panel has no legal authority beyond its religious status.
