"You're missing the point!," Goldberg said emphatically in response to co-Host Sara Haines who said that the Nazis "didn't see them [the Jews] as white."
The minute you turn it into race, it goes down this alley. Let's talk about it for what it is. It's how people treat each other. It's a problem," Goldberg said.
In the wake of public outrage on social media that included ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt who tweeted "Holocaust was about the Nazi’s systematic annihilation of the Jewish people—who they deemed to be an inferior race," the comedian and television host issued an apology on line.
"On today's show , I said the Holocaust "is not about race, but about man's inhumanity to man." I should not have said that.
She referred to Greenblatt's reaction and said she now stood corrected.
Goldberg added in her message that Jewish people around the world have always had her support and "that will never waiver." Adding she was sorry for any hurt that she may have caused.
