Gail Malachi, co-founder and CEO of Terra Security, said the company was created after years of witnessing the same challenge across the cybersecurity industry. “A penetration test report is already outdated the day it is delivered,” he explained during the interview.
According to Malachi, traditional penetration testing typically covers only a small percentage of an organization’s real attack surface while software environments continue to evolve daily. At the same time, developers are shipping code continuously while attackers operate around the clock, creating a gap that many organizations struggle to address.
Going global, Terra
Terra’s platform uses AI agents to continuously test environments while keeping experienced security professionals involved in the process. The company says its approach is built on three principles: continuous testing, context-aware assessments and human oversight.
Rather than simply identifying vulnerabilities, the platform also helps organizations remediate weaknesses and close security gaps. Today, Terra works with organizations across sectors including healthcare, finance and cybersecurity, helping them continuously validate and strengthen their defenses against evolving threats.
Malachi believes the rise of AI has fundamentally changed the cybersecurity landscape. “AI doesn’t have boundaries. Attackers operate globally, so we need to defend globally,” he said. He also points to Israel’s cybersecurity ecosystem as a major competitive advantage, citing the country’s deep pool of offensive security talent and experience defending against sophisticated threats.
Looking ahead, Terra aims to make offensive security a core security control for enterprises worldwide. “Our vision is to enable organizations to continuously validate their entire attack surface,” Malachi said. “That is exactly what we are building.”
