Elbit Systems of America has been awarded a $49.9 million firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract from the Army Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama to produce head-up displays for the U.S. Army’s Air Soldier System. Work under the contract will continue through December 2030, subject to purchase orders, and includes post-production support.
The colorized head-up display is part of the Army’s Air Soldier System, a collection of lightweight, integrated gear used in rotorcraft and designed to improve aircrew situational awareness and survivability.
The display presents key flight and mission information directly in front of aircrew members, allowing them to remain head-up and focused outside the aircraft rather than looking down at cockpit instruments.
The Air Warrior head-up display is currently used on U.S. Army UH-60 Black Hawk and CH-47 Chinook helicopters.
“Since our inception, Elbit America has been dedicated to improving situational awareness through sophisticated displays that enhance a user’s understanding of the conditions outside their aircraft or vehicle,” Scott Tumpak, senior vice president of electronic systems at Elbit America, said in a statement. “The Air Warrior head-up display allows aircrew to focus on the mission because it is designed to ensure safety, efficiency and comfort.”
“In high-stakes environments, you do not have time for uncertainty,” Elbit America President and CEO Luke Savoie said. “Elbit America delivers combat-proven head-up displays that give aircrew the confidence to see first, act first and win.”
He said the contract reflects the Army’s continued trust in the company to deliver systems designed to support soldiers in operational environments.
