British Embassy leads Israeli delegation to UK Quantum Week

Eight Israeli quantum experts joined the British Embassy’s delegation to London for the UK’s National Quantum Showcase Week, advancing UK-Israel cooperation and promoting innovation in quantum research, technology and industry

The British Embassy in Israel led a delegation to London for the United Kingdom’s National Quantum Showcase Week, highlighting efforts to deepen cooperation between the two countries in one of the world’s fastest-growing fields.
The delegation that visited London last week included representatives from the UK-Israel Tech Hub, the Science and Technology Network, and the Department for Business and Trade, along with quantum experts from academia, startups and venture capital. Among the Israeli participants were Quantum Art, Classiq, Qedma, Quantum Machines, QuamCore, HEQA, Tal Ventures and the Weizmann Institute of Science.
The visit focused on expanding joint research and commercial partnerships, strengthening strategic ties and integrating Israeli innovators into the UK’s growing quantum ecosystem. Delegates took part in several high-level events, including the UK-Israel Quantum Networking event, Grow London Future Horizons, and the 11th National Quantum Technologies Showcase.

British Ambassador to Israel Simon Walters said the mission reflected the growing ambition of both countries to lead in quantum technology. “The British Embassy in Israel is proud to lead this delegation, showcasing the growing ambition of UK-Israel collaboration in quantum technologies,” Walters said. “With quantum recognized as a priority frontier technology in the UK’s Industrial Strategy and with £670 million invested to accelerate its impact from energy to health care, we are driving innovation in secure communications, sensing and computing. Israel’s vibrant quantum ecosystem and rapid tech transfer make it a key partner.”
Earlier this year, the UK and Israel launched a joint £1.8 million funding program to support collaborative quantum research projects. Shira Lanir, the embassy’s head of science and technology, said the partnership reflects shared strengths and a mutual drive for innovation.
“Collaboration is key to harnessing the full potential of the quantum revolution,” she said. “Both the UK and Israel are global leaders in this field, with exceptional talent, scientific excellence and thriving innovation ecosystems.”
The week’s events underscored the rising momentum in quantum research and the importance of international partnerships in driving discoveries that could transform industries worldwide.
