The British Embassy in Israel has opened applications for the 2027 cohort of ScaIL UK, a government-backed program designed to help high-growth Israeli technology companies establish and expand their operations in the United Kingdom.

The program is led by the British government's business and trade authorities, with support from public and private sector partners. It aims to help Israeli companies navigate the challenges of entering the British market, including regulatory requirements, commercial partnerships and operational expansion.
The initiative comes as Israeli technology companies increasingly seek opportunities beyond their domestic market, with Britain positioning itself as a gateway to international customers, investors and business partners.
According to figures provided by the British Embassy, more than 400 Israeli companies have expanded into the United Kingdom over the past five years, generating more than £1 billion ($1.3 billion) in investment and creating over 4,000 jobs.
The embassy said British exports to Israel total £3.5 billion, with Britain recording a trade surplus of approximately £1 billion.
Britain's technology sector is valued at approximately $1.3 trillion and is home to more than 200 privately held startups valued at $1 billion or more, commonly known as unicorns, according to figures cited by the embassy.
The British government has also committed more than £120 billion to investment in infrastructure, innovation and clean energy, part of a broader effort to strengthen the country's position as a destination for technology companies and international investment.
Six-week program culminates in London roadshow
ScaIL UK combines workshops and mentoring sessions in Israel with direct exposure to the British business environment.
Participants receive guidance on market-entry strategies, regulatory frameworks, partnership development and scaling their operations internationally.
The program also includes meetings with investors, business executives, industry specialists and government representatives, culminating in a dedicated roadshow in London.
Its inaugural cohort brought together seven Israeli technology companies: Seenity, Sasa Software, FreezeM, CURESPONSE, LiVA Bio-Protection Technology, Deepdub and KashCash.
The companies operate in sectors identified as priorities under Britain's industrial strategy, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, financial technology, life sciences, advanced manufacturing and food technology.
Over six weeks, their executives participated in tailored workshops, practical training sessions and meetings with representatives of Britain's technology and investment sectors.
The program concluded with a three-day roadshow in London, where participants met potential investors, commercial partners and industry leaders.
Organizers said the initiative was designed to help companies move beyond preliminary market research and take concrete steps toward establishing a sustainable business presence in Britain.
Israeli agricultural technology company establishes UK operations
One of the program's first participants, Israeli agricultural technology company LiVA Bio-Protection Technologies, has already established a British company following its participation in ScaIL UK.
The move is intended to support its expansion into the British market and strengthen partnerships with local businesses.
LiVA develops technologies designed to protect fresh produce and reduce spoilage.
According to figures provided by the embassy, trials involving berries demonstrated a 20% to 40% increase in marketable fruit and a twofold to sixfold reduction in decay.
The company has used those results to support its commercial expansion and pursue additional opportunities in Britain.
The embassy presented LiVA's establishment of a British operation as an example of the program's ability to translate business development activities into concrete international expansion.
Ambassador highlights growing technolgy ties
British Ambassador to Israel Simon Walters said the initiative reflected the countries' longstanding economic and technological relationship.
"The UK and Israel share a longstanding partnership built on innovation, entrepreneurship and technological excellence," Walters said.
"Through programs such as ScaIL UK, we are creating new pathways for high-growth companies to access international markets, attract investment and build meaningful commercial partnerships."
He said the results of the inaugural cohort demonstrated the potential benefits of closer cooperation between the countries' technology sectors.
"The strong outcomes emerging from the inaugural cohort highlight the value of bringing together two innovation-driven economies to support sustainable growth and future prosperity," Walters said.
The program is aimed at founders and senior executives of Israeli technology companies with significant growth potential and ambitions to expand internationally.
Selected participants will have opportunities to develop commercial relationships, explore investment prospects and gain firsthand experience of Britain's business environment.
The embassy said the program also seeks to strengthen bilateral commercial ties by encouraging collaboration between Israeli technology companies and British investors, corporations and research institutions.
Applications for the 2027 cohort opened Nov. 5. Eligibility requirements, program details and application instructions are available through the ScaIL UK program website.
