Israel Aerospace Industries said Tuesday it has successfully completed a series of demonstrations of a new integrated border defense system, presenting the capabilities to the defense establishment and senior political leadership.
In a statement, IAI said the system was developed in accordance with the operational needs of the security establishment and is designed to provide responses in both routine and emergency situations along all of the country’s borders. The system is intended to detect and neutralize threats across land, air and sea, using rapid and lethal response capabilities.

IAI said the system integrates advanced intelligence-gathering technologies from a wide range of sensors and platforms to generate a unified operational picture, alongside readily available strike assets deployed in border areas. The demonstrations showed a significant reduction in response times from threat detection to interception, enabled by real-time connectivity between systems ranging from space-based assets to autonomous ground platforms.
According to the company, intelligence collection and strike operations are managed by a central mission system that processes information and links all platforms in real time, using advanced artificial intelligence to rapidly close operational loops.
Among the systems demonstrated were an intelligence-gathering drone equipped with a compact synthetic aperture radar capable of operating in all weather and visibility conditions; an armed vertical takeoff and landing drone designed for surveillance and rapid engagement; and a light border patrol aircraft developed in cooperation with U.S.-based defense firm L3Harris.
IAI said the demonstrations also included a broad range of electro-optical systems, radars, autonomous vehicles, drones and unmanned aerial vehicles produced by the company, all operating as part of a single integrated architecture and tested against a variety of simulated threats.
Chief Executive Boaz Levy said the country’s borders and terrain present highly complex security challenges, requiring rapid detection and neutralization of threats as far from populated areas as possible.
“The system we presented is autonomous, innovative and highly resilient,” Levy said. “It provides a relevant response to a wide range of threats across all border scenarios while helping protect the lives of forces operating in the field. This is the first time such a comprehensive capability has been demonstrated successfully.”
IAI said the demonstrations were conducted for the defense establishment and political leadership and included new systems and technologies that proved their effectiveness against operational requirements. The company said it is the first defense firm to present a comprehensive, integrated solution for national border defense.
