Meta is launching premium subscriptions for its flagship apps, WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook, and will also begin testing subscription plans for businesses, creators and AI users, TechCrunch reported. Earlier this year, Meta confirmed it was exploring premium subscription plans for the apps.
Users who subscribe to Instagram Plus for $3.99 a month, Facebook Plus for $3.99 a month or WhatsApp Plus for $2.99 a month will receive access to additional features, including profile customization, story insights and super reactions.
Instagram Plus will include features such as extending story availability by another 24 hours and previewing another user’s story without appearing as a viewer. Facebook Plus will allow users to extend stories so they remain available for 48 hours instead of 24. WhatsApp Plus will include features such as pinning 20 additional chats.
At the same time, Meta will begin testing plans for creators and businesses, as well as AI-focused plans for all users. The new tests will be branded under “Meta One,” which will include all of the company’s premium subscriptions.
Meta One Plus, priced at $7.99 a month, and Meta One Premium, priced at $19.99 a month, will allow subscribers, among other features, to create more images and videos with Meta AI. The company will begin testing the AI-focused plans next month in Singapore, Guatemala and Bolivia.
