ChatGPT was experiencing a significant service disruption Monday evening, with users reporting errors and delays as OpenAI acknowledged problems affecting its service.

OpenAI said it had identified elevated latency affecting the service and was working to implement a mitigation. The incident was listed as a partial outage on the company’s status page Monday.
Users in Israel began reporting problems at around 6 p.m. local time, and disruptions were still being reported after 8 p.m.
The company did not immediately provide a cause for the disruption or indicate when service would fully return to normal.
OpenAI’s status page notes that availability figures are reported across subscription tiers, models and error types, meaning the impact can vary depending on a user’s plan and the specific ChatGPT features being used.
The disruption follows several other ChatGPT incidents in recent weeks, including elevated error rates in ChatGPT Work and Workspace Agents on August 27, which OpenAI later said had been fully resolved.
