The Peres Center for Peace and Innovation, founded by former President Shimon Peres in 1996, has partnered with Verbit, an Israeli transcription and captioning technology company, to enhance accessibility at its Israel Innovation Center.
The collaboration is part of a broader effort to expand the reach of Israeli innovation to diverse audiences both domestically and abroad. Through Verbit’s AI-powered captioning technology, more than 500 video clips at the center have been made accessible with subtitles in English, Hebrew, Arabic and Spanish. The multilingual captions are designed to support deaf and hard-of-hearing visitors and provide a richer experience for international guests.
Located at the Peres Center’s headquarters in Tel Aviv-Jaffa, the Israel Innovation Center was launched in early 2019 and serves as Israel’s first and only visitor center dedicated to showcasing the country’s technological and entrepreneurial achievements. Since its opening, the center has welcomed over 300,000 visitors from around the world, including students, educators, diplomats and corporate leaders.
Efrat Duvdevani, CEO of the Peres Center, said the project aligns with the center’s mission to bridge cultural divides and make innovation inclusive. “Language is an essential tool for bridging the gap between people,” she said. "Together with Verbit, the Peres Center invests in translating content to bridge the gap between people and cultures and drive innovation and creativity.”
As part of the project, 15 hours of audiovisual content from the center’s various exhibit spaces were transcribed using Verbit’s flagship technology, Captivate.
Verbit CEO Yair Amsterdam said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to expanding global accessibility. “We’re excited to partner with The Peres Center for Peace and Innovation to make their content accessible globally,” he said.
Founded in 2017, Verbit serves over 3,000 clients across sectors including education, media, law and technology. Its customers include major broadcasters like CNN, NBC and Fox; top academic institutions such as Harvard, Stanford and the London Business School; and global platforms like Coursera and Kaltura. The company has offices in Israel, the United States, the United Kingdom, Ukraine and Canada.
