Finland's flag carrier Finnair, which operates flights on the Helsinki-Tel Aviv route, will offer a weekly flight to the southern Israeli resort city of Eilat from October 28, 2015 to March 23, 2016.
"Located where the Negev Desert meets the northern tip of the Red Sea, Eilat averages 360 sunny days per year and is well regarded for its beaches, water sports and nightlife," the Finnish company said in a statement.
Tourism Ministry officials say the new route is the result of the hard work of the ministry's emissary in Scandinavia, Uri Taub.
Finnair has been operating direct flights between Tel Aviv and Helsinki for the past two years, and offers connecting flights from the Finnish capital to many destinations around the world.
