Passover 2026: last-minute destinations still open to Israelis

Flight disruptions and security concerns are driving Israelis toward nearby, flexible getaways this holiday, with Cyprus and select European cities still offering bookable family breaks

|
Against the backdrop of a complex security situation, flight cancellations and frequent changes to departure schedules, Passover 2026 looks very different from what we’ve known in recent years. For many Israelis, planning a vacation has become a challenge that requires flexibility, quick decision-making, and, above all, choosing destinations that offer both relative stability and accessibility.
Out of this uncertainty, a clear trend is emerging: fewer long-haul trips planned months in advance, and a growing preference for nearby destinations, places that can be reached quickly and offer a reliable experience, from relatively consistent flight availability to accommodations suited for families during the holiday. At the same time, another need has become increasingly evident: the desire to step away from routine, recharge and create meaningful family moments after a challenging period.

Within this reality, there are still destinations that remain accessible places that allow Israelis to take a break, even now. Travel blogger Yifat Hen Manor highlights the destinations that are particularly friendly and accessible for Israelis this Passover, and can still be booked at the last minute.

Cyprus remains a top choice

Among all destinations, Cyprus stands out as one that continues to offer relatively stable accessibility during this period. Its geographical proximity, short flight duration and ongoing air connections make it a leading option for Israelis seeking both certainty and a true vacation experience.

Limassol: A holiday that blends sea, city and family time

In Limassol, it’s worth starting your trip with a stroll along the marina promenade, a vibrant, modern area filled with restaurants, shops and open sea views, perfect for a relaxed family outing. In addition, Limassol Zoo offers a pleasant and accessible experience for families, with well-maintained paths and a comfortable environment for children.

After a day of exploring, the City of Dreams Mediterranean resort stands out as a leading accommodation choice. Located less than an hour’s flight from Israel, the resort is considered one of the most innovative and luxurious in the region, featuring over 500 rooms and suites, a lavish spa, fine dining restaurants, a large casino, a family adventure park, designer boutiques and a tennis academy. Its outdoor pool complex is among the largest and most impressive in Cyprus, hosting major events and performances throughout the summer.
During Passover, the resort also offers kosher culinary options, alongside a full hospitality experience with activities for children and families, a combination that allows guests to enjoy a holiday getaway while maintaining the spirit of the holiday.

Paphos: A relaxed getaway with a touch of adventure

Paphos offers a great mix of nature, history and family-friendly attractions. Aphrodite Waterpark is a popular choice for families, featuring a variety of rides and activities for all ages. In addition, the Tombs of the Kings provide a different kind of experience, an impressive open archaeological site that invites children into a world of stories, discovery and exploration.

What about Europe?

European cities are still on the map as well, especially for travelers willing to remain flexible in their planning.

Athens: A blend of history and breathtaking views

A visit to the Acropolis is a must, even for children, who are often captivated by the historical stories behind the site. In addition, a trip up Mount Lycabettus offers panoramic views of the entire city and a memorable experience for the whole family.
