Foreign airlines start returning to Israel this month as flight resumptions roll out through April

Wizz Air to reopen bookings from April 25; Etihad resumes Abu Dhabi route mid-month; Blue Bird set to be first foreign carrier back as broader list of airlines delays return dates into summer and beyond

Foreign airlines are beginning to return to Israel, with several carriers announcing plans to resume flights in the coming weeks after months of disruption.
Hungarian low-cost giant Wizz Air said Friday it will resume flights to and from Israel starting April 25, in line with international safety guidelines. “The company continues to closely monitor developments,” Wizz Air said in a statement.

Etihad Airways, the national carrier of Abu Dhabi, announced it will restart its Abu Dhabi–Tel Aviv route on Wednesday, April 15. The airline said it will initially operate two daily flights. Tickets are already available through booking systems and the company’s website.
Greek carrier Blue Bird Airways said it will resume flights between Tel Aviv and Athens on Sunday, April 12, becoming the first foreign airline to return to Israel since the war. The airline, owned by Israel’s Kavei Hufsha Group, will initially operate flights using an aircraft from ALK Airlines. Frequency is expected to increase to two daily flights later in the week, along with additional destinations. Tickets are available through the airline’s website and travel agents.
For now, only Israeli airlines are operating flights to and from the country, with Wizz Air, Etihad and Blue Bird the first foreign carriers to announce a return.
