Exotic destination, colorful planes: Air Seychelles, Condor head back to Israel

The airline will restart weekly flights between Tel Aviv and Mahé on August 20 after extending cancellations over security concerns, while Germany’s Condor says it is preparing to restore Frankfurt-Tel Aviv service later in the month

More foreign airlines are signalling a return to Israel, with Air Seychelles announcing it will resume direct flights between Tel Aviv and Mahé on August 20 and German carrier Condor preparing to restart service between Frankfurt and Tel Aviv in August, subject to the regional security situation.
Air Seychelles had previously been scheduled to return to Israel on June 30, but extended its flight cancellations because of security developments in the region. The company has now set a new return date before the end of the summer.

The route will be operated with Airbus A320 aircraft in economy and business class. Tickets will include a meal and checked baggage of up to 30 kilograms. Condor, known for its brightly striped aircraft, also announced that it has appointed TAL Aviation as its exclusive sales representative in Israel. The German airline said it plans to resume flights between Frankfurt and Tel Aviv during August, depending on geopolitical developments in the region.
The company said Israeli passengers would be able to connect through Frankfurt to dozens of destinations in Europe, North America, South America, Africa and the Indian Ocean region. Condor also noted that its first flight, in 1956, was a pilgrimage flight from Frankfurt to Israel.
Condor currently operates a fleet of about 60 aircraft and flies to more than 70 destinations worldwide. In 2024, it completed the renewal of its long-haul fleet with Airbus A330neo aircraft and is also in the process of replacing its short- and medium-haul fleet, a program expected to continue in the coming years.
