After the latest round of price hikes took effect on March 1, the third in less than 18 months, Israir is again updating its baggage fees. This time, the move is more limited: The price of a first checked bag will rise to $65 each way, while all other fares remain unchanged.
Under the new price list, which applies to bookings made from May 1, 2026, the first checked bag, weighing up to 23 kilograms, will cost $65 each way when purchased in advance, up from $60 today. Passengers who choose to pay at Ben Gurion Airport will continue to pay $100 each way.
All other baggage fees remain unchanged: carry-on luggage, or trolley bags, will remain $30 each way when purchased in advance and $40 at Ben Gurion Airport; a second checked bag will cost $80; and third through fifth bags will continue to cost $120 each way. Additional fees, including for sports equipment, flying with pets and excess weight, also remain unchanged.
The latest update follows a series of price increases by Israir over the past year. In January 2025, the price of a trolley bag rose for the first time, and in April that year there was another increase, alongside higher prices for first checked bags and seat selection. The last hike, which took effect March 1, 2026, already marked a more significant tightening in both prices and conditions, including limiting a basic checked bag to 23 kilograms.
In the background, aviation industry officials point to continued pressure on operating costs, led by jet fuel prices. Since the outbreak of the war between Iran and Israel, oil prices have fluctuated sharply, prompting airlines worldwide to adjust prices and raise fares, both for tickets and ancillary services.
