A new archaeology exhibit highlighting key discoveries from Israel’s past opened Wednesday at Ben Gurion International Airport, offering travelers a glimpse into the country's ancient history.
Titled Eternity of Israel, the exhibit features photographs of major excavation sites with QR codes linking to videos filmed during the digs. It also displays artifacts such as agricultural tools from a Hasmonean-era farm near Mount Arbel, ancient weapons, a hoard of Hasmonean coins found in the desert and a five-ton original stone from the Western Wall. Among the notable finds is physical evidence bearing the name “Ahab,” the biblical king of northern Israel.
Visitors can also interact with models of significant archaeological discoveries, making the exhibition a hands-on experience.
The exhibit, a joint initiative of the Israel Antiquities Authority, the Airports Authority and the Ministry of Heritage, is supported by the Helmsley Charitable Trust. Located in the airport’s main arrivals terminal, it will remain on display until January 2026.

“We wanted to create an experience that combines archaeology, history and culture, giving travelers a glimpse into our people’s history as reflected through these findings,” said curator Galit Litani from the Israel Antiquities Authority.
Eli Escusido, director-general of the Israel Antiquities Authority, emphasized the exhibit’s significance in the current global climate. “Ben Gurion Airport is Israel’s main entry and exit point,” he said.
“In these times of fake news and rising antisemitism, hundreds of thousands of travelers will encounter the Jewish people’s unique story. Through the Eternity of Israel exhibition, we aim to provide an engaging experience that highlights the deep-rooted and eternal connection between the people of Israel and this land.”
