As Israel begins its 5th election round in 3.5 years, many have already cast their ballots and are now free to enjoy a day off work.
Ynet collected some options for those wishing to venture out but not too far from home.
The Golden Park
Golden ParkIn in Kiryat Shmona in Israel's north, covers an area of approximately 12 hectares in the very center of the city. The vast majority of the park is woodland, and a stream runs through its center.
Haifa Wadis Trail
The Haifa wadis descending from the top of the Carmel ridge to the sea, Form the green backbone of the city and provide amazing views. These wadis are located near almost every Haifa neighborhood and many of them are located just a few minutes' walk from the city center.
Tel Michal winter pools
Moving down to central Israel, we find the urban nature site of Tel Michal in Herzliya. The site offers more than 158 plant species and wildlife unique to the spot.
Park HaHorshot Tel Aviv
The park is a complex of four groves and includes an ecological man made pond that attracts waterfowl. The pond can be viewed from a birdwatching lookout built next to it.
Gazelle Valley Park
The Gazelle Valley Park is the largest urban nature resort in Israel. It is run by the Israel Nature and Parks Authority, which continuously develops and maintains its ecosystem, and provides tours and educational activities to the general public. Along with the gazelles, the site has observation points overlooking the valley, and a large lake that attracts waterfowl.
The Jerusalem Bird Observatory
The Nili and David Jerusalem Bird Observatory is located adjacent to the Knesset. It attracts many of the region's birds and provides bird watching observatories to the public. Now in the midst of bird migration season, visitors can enjoy the site, even more.
The southern beach park in Ashdod
A natural area with sand dunes and plant species just outside the city. The area itself has been designed in recent years as a community urban landmark by the city of Ashdod.

The Bird Sanctuary in Eilat
Eilat is one of the most important spots for migratory birds in the world, with hundreds of millions passing through each year. local trees and shrubs were planted throughout the park and nearby salt ponds to attract the winged visitors.
The site serves as the last stop for food supplies before the birds continue on their long way over the desert towards warmer weather in Africa.
