Eyewitness in Washington: 'Suspect posed as victim, shouted Free Palestine when police arrived'

Yoni, an eyewitness to the attack in Washington, DC, where two Israeli embassy employees were killed, told Ynet: 'We heard shots and saw someone running inside. The security guard probably thought he was injured, and some people gave him water and he asked to call the police. About ten minutes later, when police arrived, he said: 'I did it,' raised his hands, pulled out a red keffiyeh from his pocket and started shouting 'Free Palestine'."
According to the witness, "I personally tried to return his keffiyeh to him, not realizing he had killed two people. It turns out he was inside the building with us for about 15 minutes. Thank God he left his gun in the bushes outside."
