Trump pardons Orthodox businessman convicted of $39 million tax fraud

U.S. President Donald Trump granted a full pardon to Joseph Schwartz, an Orthodox Jewish businessman from New York, who was convicted of tax fraud amounting to nearly $39 million and sentenced to three years in prison.
Schwartz managed a network of about 100 nursing homes across 11 different states and admitted to not remitting taxes withheld from employee paychecks to authorities.
He was released from federal prison after serving three months following the pardon.
