Four-year-old Rose Pizem's body was flown to France Thursday morning for burial. She will be buried in Paris at her father's request.
Rose went missing inMay. Her body was found inTel Aviv's Yarkon River last week after an extensive police canvas, which went on for several weeks. Her mother, Marie-Charlotte Renault and grandfather, Ronny Ron ,have been arrested for her murder.
French officials took custody of Rose's body on Wednesday. Once in Paris, she will be released to her family, who will then hold her burial service. An official from the French Foreign Ministry will attend the service.
"This is a painful time for us and we are not up to sharing it with the media. It's a funeral. It will be conducted as funerals are conducted," Rose's grandmother, Betty Guer, told Ynet.
The consul also said she had received the explicit permission of Rose's mother to have the body transported to France.
