Introducing the IDF's "enemy brigade": The IDF 'straining facility in Tzeelim Base will soon be home to a brand new brigade – the military's own "enemy forces."
Relates stories:
Until now, forces training in urban warfare had to be "split" into friend and foe units during training, a process which often slowed the training down significantly.
The new brigade will be stationed in Tzeelim, in southern Israel , andits members will be trained in enemy warfare in order to give the IDF's regular forces a real "run for their money."
The IDF's urban warfare facility contains over 470 buildings offering the excess of 4,000 indoor scenarios.
The new brigade will be supervised by the IDF's military maneuvers monitoring center and will be granted the use of various weapons, from M-16 rifles to Kornet anti-tank missiles, which are often used by Gaza terror groups.
- The new brigade was modeled after the IAF's Red Squadron, whose pilots serve as the enemy air force during aerial exercises.
