Two senior officials responsible for Middle East, Israel and Iran portfolios at the U.S. National Security Council were fired Friday as part of mass dismissals by the Trump administration. Israeli-American Merav Seren, who was considered a strong pro-Israel voice in the Trump administration and served as director of Israel-Iran portfolio at the council, has ended her role. Eric Trager, senior director for Middle East and North Africa affairs, has also concluded his position at the council. Both were appointed by former National Security Advisor Mike Walsh, who was himself dismissed earlier following the 'Signalgate' affair and was accused of recruiting 'neo-conservatives' to the council, allegedly against Trump's spirit.
