White House spokesperson Caroline Leavitt addressed the attack in Doha during a press briefing, saying that "eliminating Hamas, which has enriched itself on the suffering of Gaza residents, is a worthy goal." According to her, the Pentagon warned President Trump before the attack, and the president instructed his special envoy Steve Witkoff to notify the Qatari government. She added that Trump spoke with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after the attack, as well as with the Emir and Prime Minister of Qatar, to whom he promised that "something like this won't happen again."
