Thousands of Haredim protest against IDF draft outside New York consulate: 'Persecution of Jews'

Thousands of Haredi Jews are protesting outside the Israeli consulate in New York against what they call "religious persecution and forced conscription to the IDF." The protest was organized by the Central Rabbinical Congress, with rebbes from the Satmar Hasidic group and other leaders from Haredi communities in the U.S. Protesters carried signs against Israel and called for an end to its "violent wars and persecution of Haredi Jews." The demonstrators accused Israel of conducting night raids on Haredi neighborhoods and arresting yeshiva students who refuse to enlist. "Most Americans are completely unaware of Israel's shocking treatment of Torah-observant Jews," claimed Rabbi Isaac Green, one of the protest organizers.
