The US Treasury Department announced that three Palestinian human rights organizations have been added to Washington's list of blocked entities, as part of new sanctions related to the International Criminal Court. These are the Al-Haq organization based in Ramallah, Al-Mezan Center and the Palestinian Center for Human Rights operating in the Gaza Strip. According to the announcement, the three organizations are engaged in collecting testimonies and documenting alleged war crimes, materials that have been used in legal proceedings against the US and Israel before the International Criminal Court in The Hague. The move is based on an executive order issued in February, authorizing the administration to impose sanctions on entities and individuals providing direct or indirect support to the court in proceedings directed against Washington and its allies.
