New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch announced she will continue in her role under Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani. This comes after speculation arose about the future of Tisch, who is pro-Israel and opposes reforms to the NYPD, contrary to Mamdani's positions.
In an email to officers, Tisch wrote: "Leading this organization is the greatest privilege of my life, and I am proud to continue doing so."
Mamdani praised her for fighting corruption in senior command levels and her contribution to reducing crime in the city, saying she "stood with New Yorkers against anti-democratic trends."
