The University of California, Berkeley has provided the Trump administration with 160 names of students and faculty with potential connections to antisemitic activity. This marks the first public move of its kind, after academic institutions like Harvard and Columbia refused similar requests. Critics warn of serious violations of individual rights and comparisons to the McCarthy era, including Professor Judith Butler, an anti-Israel activist on campus whose name was included in the list. Butler criticized the university's decision, adding that neither she nor others were given the opportunity to respond to the accusations.
